Sammite hasn't been feeling too well lately. He's being closely monitored.
Get well soon little guy!!❤️
Sammite was born in August 2018, in a little bay next to our cabin on Bowyer Island (Howe Sound). We named him Plumper (after the ship that mapped Howe Sound in 1857). We watched him swimming with his mother throughout August but then on September 22nd, I found him lying motionless on the rocks near our community beach. As a past MMRC volunteer, my daughter was quite familiar with handling orphaned seals, so following an over the phone assessment, we were instructed to boat him to Horseshoe Bay where we met the MMRC “ambulance”. Get well little guy! We look forward to returning Sammite to his home on Bowyer Island.
