Sapphire has joined lots of friends in a large pre-release pool where she's picking up the last skills she needs to survive on her own. She's also gained a lot of weight!
Sapphire has been paired with Lawsonite in the Halibut pool for a while now. They seem to be getting along really well, though we're hearing that tiny Sapphire is the boss in that pool...
Sapphire still has a few things to learn in fish school, but she's in her own pool for now, and will hopefully pick up the last skills she needs to make it in competition with other seal pups in a larger pre-release pool...
Well, that didn't work out. She's back in her tub. We'll try again. This is her getting weighed this morning...
Sapphire has been upgraded to the "big kid pool" where she will learn how to compete for fish with other harbour seals... and she's still tiny!
Sapphire is making good progress in fish school. She's eating herring with a little help. Sapphire is still tiny, and that herring looks massive in comparison to her -- but somehow she's making it work.
