Patient Updates

Zeus was released after 98 days in our care.

You can see the list of all animals released at this release in the release record.

Zeus has now been on site for over 48 hours. He’s receiving fluids to treat dehydration and is being fed six times a day as our team stabilizes him.

Zeus is growing stronger each day and has developed a fondness for his stuffy. He’s currently housed in the comfort aisle of our quarantine area and continues to be monitored closely.

Zeus is starting to shed his fluffy lanugo coat and has been enjoying his daily swims!

Zeus looks like a whole new seal! He has shed his lanugo from his head and flippers and continues to lose more and more each day. He'll look like a grown up seal in no time.

With his lanugo now gone, Zeus is almost unrecognizable! He's growing bigger every day and absolutely loves his daily swims. As the most vocal pup on site, he always has tons to say!

Zeus has spent the last couple of days exploring his new enclosure. He's been having fun diving deep and LOVES lounging on his heat pad.

Zeus has a friend in his pool - Finley! The two pups have become fast friends and wherever Finley goes...Zeus follows!

Zeus is still very attached to his pool mate Finley. His teeth are finally erupting and he will soon be weaned onto fish. He's been showing lots of interest in fish when offered in the pool.

Zeus is learning how to eat fish now! He is still in a pool with his pal Finley and doing well!

Zeus is progressing well through his rehabilitation journey, and loves his pool haul-out!

Zeus is in one of our largest pools now with 5 other seal pups, he is doing great and working on gaining weight so he can be released back into the ocean!

One of our amazing young supporters (age 6!) created a beautiful watercolour painting of Zeus that we couldn’t resist sharing. She noticed that his spots looked as if they’d been painted on, which inspired this painting.

Zeus now has 7 pals in his pool and is getting closer and closer to his release day!
