Every seal that arrives at the rescue centre is placed in a tub under quarantine. This is the first temporary home for each new arrival, where they remain for at least 14 days before they are moved to a larger tub.

Patient Progress
Weaning Oolichan is still being fed a zoological milk formula, but as his teeth are beginning to erupt, his diet is being supplemented with fish. Soon, he will enter fish school where he will learn how to eat fish on his own.

My husband found this little guy while he was diving off his dock @ Buckley Bay.
He was so still just hanging on under the walkway. There was an eagle the day before we noticed diving under the walkway.
All day this huge eagle sat in out tree watching. A couple days before the whales were around the sailboat.
We figure they probably done away with the mom.
Thank you to all the rescue agencies involved in coordinating his flight to Vancouver & especially to my husband for deciding to dive that day.
To hear he’s getting stronger every day thank you. I see the one that was found after him passed away. Must be rough when you guys take care.
