Patient Progress

Pre-Release Pool Salsa has demonstrated that he is confident eating fish on his own and that he can compete for food with other harbour seals. He has been moved to a larger pool where he can further test and improve his skills. He will move between pools as he progresses further and develops his skills until he reaches his release weight. It can take just a few weeks or several months before a patient is ready for release, depending on health status and treatment plan, weight gain and transport availability.

Patient Updates

That was fast! Salsa is already in a pre-release pool. Here, he'll be working on his food competition skills and continue to gain weight.

Guestbook for Salsa

  1. Hi Salsa- Not sure if you are named after a yummy Mexican dip or a ballroom dance. Regardless, i bet you are a real cutie. Be strong and be brave while they take care of you at MMRC. They will give you lots of TLC. Take care and hope you get well soon. Love you!
