Patient Progress

Pre-Release Pool Eleanor Point has demonstrated that she is confident eating fish on her own and that she can compete for food with other harbour seals. She has been moved to a larger pool where she can further test and improve her skills. She will move between pools as she progresses further and develops her skills until she reaches her release weight. It can take just a few weeks or several months before a patient is ready for release, depending on health status and treatment plan, weight gain and transport availability.

Patient Updates

Eleanor is losing her lanugo fur, and she loves chasing her hind flips in swims!

Eleanor has been eating confidently on her own and enjoying the depths of her new space in Stickleback. She will be joined by more pups once they can eat as fast as her.

Eleanor has moved to the Harbour/Ellie pools now that she’s eating quickly and confidently, she’s joined by Storm and Henry where they now have two pools to choose from!

Eleanor is now in Rockfish! From one of the smallest pups on site to the largest, she can now get more swimming space and socialization with some new individuals.

Eleanor is now in Ellie! She’s joined by Fitz who’s eating closer to her pace.
