Buddy Blubber was admitted after underweight and with a full lanugo coat that indicates he was born prematurely. Pups born prematurely have difficulty regulating their body temperature and blood glucose so Buddy will be closely monitored by our team over the coming days.
You can help us care for Buddy Blubber and the more than 100 marine mammals we rescue, rehabilitate and release every year by symbolically adopting him today with a small donation to the rescue centre.
Milk Matrix Buddy Blubber is being fed a milk formula that mimics the milk he would receive from his mother. This formula is high in fat and promotes weight gain. He will eventually be weaned onto fish.
