Story

Puck was rescued from the Pelican Bay Marina in Granville Island, Vancouver. Weighing just over 6kg, Puck was reported to be alone, covered in lanugo fur and still fully attached to his placenta.

Symbolic Adoption

You can help us care for Puck and the more than 100 marine mammals we rescue, rehabilitate and release every year by symbolically adopting him today with a small donation to the rescue centre.

Patient Progress

"Training" Pool Puck has demonstrated that he is confident eating fish on his own. He has been moved to a small pool that fits up to 3 animals where he can learn how to compete for fish with other harbour seals. He will move to a larger pool once he is confident enough.

Patient Updates

Puck is doing very well and loving his daily swims!

Puck is now learning to eat fish!

Guestbook for Puck

  1. I’m really glad that baby Puck is well and in good care and having good milk! I gave the phone call to the Aquarium when I saw this little guy trying to pull himself to rest on the rocks. He was so small, weak and in growing distress. Soon after he was also in the heart of the Dockside restaurant’s staff and its clients and many people were there to cheer for the rescue! This rescue happened less than 1h after the call, big thanks to the Marine Mammal Rescue Society for coming quick and efficient in saving little Puck!

  2. Get well soon, Puck because someday you will be the biggest seal on the beach!
