Patient Updates

Algae Wong was released after 79 days in our care.

You can see the list of all animals released at this release in the release record.

Algae Wong is no longer a baby-sized seal. She's gained a ton of weight!

Algae is in a medium-size pre-release pool where she's still learning how to compete for food with other harbour seal pups. So far it seems she's doing a good job...

Oh Algae... a week later, and she's still not eating on her own. She waits more or less patiently for somebody to help her. Well, Algae, you're going to have to do this on your own soon...

Algae still has a few things to learn in fish school. She wants the fish... she just prefers to be fed. Well, we'll work on that, and she'll be eating fish in no time!

Algae showed signs of severe dehydration, so she received plenty of fluids after being admitted. She also had an infection that is still being treated with antibiotics. Otherwise, she's progressing normally and will hopefully gain some weight soon.

Guestbook for Algae Wong

  1. Such a sweet little critter that one of my friends found. So happy that she was found and is in good care.
    ?

  2. she sure has come along way. I don’t think she would fit in the crate that i put her in when i loaded her up for her plane ride !!
