Patient Updates

Focarelli was released after 51 days in our care.

"Focarelli took a lot of time to make it into the waves. He was very hesitant to leave, then even turned back... but we could ultimately convince him that the ocean was the best choice, and he left without looking back."

You can see the list of all animals released at this release in the release record.

Foca's time with us has almost come to an end. He's gained a lot of weight and is looking amazing!

Focarelli has moved on to a pre-release pool. He's still housed together with Sealy Dan, and their social interactions are quite entertaining to watch. Around the time we took this picture, Sealy was in the water most of the time while Focarelli watched him from the rim at the pool, growling at Sealy every time he surfaced. Seals...

Focarelli is getting used to pool life. We watched him kick Sealy off the haul-out twice, though... bad, bad seal.

Focarelli has made it into a pool! We're hearing that he's become fast friends with his new pool mate Sealy Dan.

Focarelli is on track to pass fish school with flying colours! He's already eating fish on his own and is making very good progress.

Focarelli is making good progress. He's already slowly being weaned onto fish.

Focarelli has already lost much of his lanugo! The much darker pigmentation of his actual fur underneath is much more visible now.

Focarelli seems to be doing well. He is very vocal and looks beautifully chubby, just the way we like it...
